Product Datasheets
| eIF4E
Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E, also known as eIF4E, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the EIF4E gene. Most eukaryotic cellular mRNAs are blocked at their 5'-ends with the 7-methyl-guanosine five-prime cap structure, m7GpppX (where X is any nucleotide). eIF4E is a eukaryotic translation initiation factor that binds specifically to this cap structure. It is a 24-kD polypeptide that exists both in a free form and as part of the eIF4F pre-initiation complex. The other subunits of eIF4F are a 47-kD polypeptide, termed eIF4A,that possesses ATPase and RNA helicase activities, and a 220-kD scaffolding polypeptide, eIF4G.eIF4E is found in the nucleus of many mammalian cell types as well as in other species including yeast, drosophila and humans.| Typical data
As the OD values of the standard curve may vary according to the conditions of the actual assay performance (e.g. operator, pipetting technique, wash technique or temperature effects), the operator should establish a standard curve for each test. Typical standard curve and data are provided below for reference only.| Concentration (ng/mL) | 20 | 10 | 5 | 2.5 | 1.25 | 0.625 | 0.312 | 0 |

| Repeatability
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):CV% < 10%; Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays):CV% < 10%| Recovery
The recovery of Human eIF4E spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.| Sample Type | Range(%) | Average Recovery(%) |
